YouTube – Quantum Shorts – The Cat in the Box

Today’s reading is The Cat in the Box by Rebecca Montange.

All the information we have on Rebecca Montange in the Quantum Shorts book is that she entered their flash fiction competition in 2013. A web search turned up this: Rebecca earned her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her Ph.D. subject in biochemistry was: Structure of Riboswitches. She was awarded a National Research Council Fellowship. Let’s go with that.

The quantum concept in The Cat in the Box is Schrödinger’s Cat.

The Schrödinger’s Cat experiment from the point of view of the cat, its superposed self and the miscreant students making use of their boss’ pet. What could possibly go wrong?

Vin Stone – The Groundsman Published

Cover image for the novel Vin Stone - The GroundsmanVin Stone – The Groundsman, the fifth book in the Vin Stone series, is with my distributor now. The ebook was authenticated right away and should be at the retailers soon. It usually doesn’t take long for that step, especially since I didn’t send it to Amazon this time. You’ll be able to find it at Kobo and Barnes and Noble, among others. It’s also going to Overdrive for distribution to libraries. All you have to do is request it, and other books by me, and your library will check it out. (pun intended)

The audiobook takes a little longer for authentication, for reasons you would find reasonable, so it might be a few days before it shows up. When I have their availability confirmed, I will add them to the Books for Sale page.

Feeling relieved that we’ve reached this stage. Now I have a few weeks “vacation” to lay the groundwork for the next one (got some ideas already) and for putting more videos up on the Okanagan Reader YouTube channel.

You know, I think I’ll go and make myself a cup of coffee, and put my feet up.

YouTube – Quantum Shorts – Two Words

Today’s reading is Two Words by Nick Maslov.

Nick Maslov is a lover of physics, astronomy, and science fiction. At the time of the publication of Quantum Shorts, he was studying physics at university and had every intention of surviving the degenerate era himself.

The quantum concepts in Two Words are radioactivity, randomness, time and tunneling.

What would it be like to be the last sentient being at the heat death of the universe?
