At the publication of Quantum Shorts Ricky Nathvani was a post-doctoral researcher at Imperial College, London. He used to work on proton structure for applications at the Large Hadron Collider and has since pivoted into applying machine learning to study problems in global environmental health. When not doing research, he enjoys books, black coffee, boulders, beer-fuelled conversations and board games.
The quantum concepts in Beam Therapy are the atom, maths, probability, and the uncertainty principle.
