Stories for Men – Part Three

Today’s reading is part three of Stories for Men by John Kessel, part of a collection of short stories called The Baum Plan for Financial Independence. It is about nine minutes long. The story isn’t actually a short story. It’s more like a novella, so be prepared for many parts. Erno has his first adventure with Tyler, and is surprised to find himself attracted to the sense of danger. Like other Okanagan Reader stories it is licensed Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike. Listen to this and other stories on the Audio page.

Advance Readers Copy

If you are lucky, you might find yourself the recipient of an advance readers copy(ARC) of a soon-to-be-published book. Lucky, that is, if you want the responsibility. I have been gifted with an ARC and eventually I will publish a review on this blog. I will not reveal now the name of the book or the author. That will come with the review early next year.

I will show the cover art, though, because I like to accompany these missives with pictures. This image just doesn’t have any writing on it. Unfortunately, there is also no information on the creator, so I can’t attribute it.

I have just started on it, having read the first few chapters, and so far I can say that the writing and editing are good. I like the author’s voice and I’m looking forward to finding out what happens to their characters. Now they just have to continue to impress me for the next 95% of it.-)
