There might not be any posts for a while as I am trying to figure out how to make a video recording for the Okanagan Reader YouTube channel. I’m planning on serially posting chapters from Green Comet up there and I want to introduce them with videos of me talking.
I have a laptop with a camera. I have a good microphone. I have OBS installed. What I’m trying to get right is the lighting. I set this studio up to be nearly anechoic, and the materials happen to be dark. This does not make for good lighting. I’m also figuring out how to concatenate MP3 audio files with the MP4 video file. I think I have it pretty well down, but I’m sure I’ll be stepping in a cow pie before I’m done. In addition to OBS, I’m also using Audacity and avidemux.
Hints and suggestions welcome.

You might want some diffused light to bring out your manly features without harsh shaows. Maybe google “you tuber starter pack” or “you tuber must-have equipment” for some ideas.
Brilliant suggestions. No surprise.-) I’ve been experimenting and if I let natural light in through the windows, it works pretty well. And a cap to cover my big shiny forehead.
