Green Comet

Today’s reading is chapter twenty-nine of Green Comet, the first book in the Green Comet trilogy.

Since this is the Okanagan Reader, I decided to take this out of the studio and into the Okanagan valley. Naturally I picked a blustery day which made getting a clean recording impossible. I managed to figure out how to extract the audio so I could clean it up, but I didn’t manage to figure out how to put it back in. Instead, I stuck it in after the video, so you get it twice. Hopefully conditions are better next time I do this, or I manage to figure out how to edit it properly.

We are more than halfway through, and the best is yet to come. In chapter twenty-nine we witness the joining of the two comets. Elgin and Fran are in the bubble, along with Maria and her father, Tomas. Buzzard decides to go outside to watch.

Today’s reading is chapter twenty-eight of Green Comet, the first book in the Green Comet trilogy.

In chapter twenty-eight we learn that Elgin is disappointed that they won’t be having children. Fran is glad at how well Elgin reacted to the news. Preparations intensify for the joining. They realize that the bubble is going to get overcrowded for the viewing. They decide they need a lottery to select who gets to be there.

Today’s reading is chapter twenty-seven of Green Comet, the first book in the Green Comet trilogy.

In chapter twenty-seven Elgin and Frances enjoy coffee and toast with iceberry jam on their new balcony. They talk about the Visitor, but it makes her just as uncomfortable as it did Buzzard. Fran suggests that they should grow iceberries right there on the walls of the Square. They have an appointment with the Doctor.
