Green Comet

This reading is chapter thirty-two of Green Comet, the first book in the Green Comet trilogy.

I’m having fun with those outdoor videos, so you can expect to see more of them. We’ll see if any of my local audience can identify the locations.

In chapter 32, Fran is beginning to suspect that the Visitor is not what they are assuming. Meanwhile, their message to Orange Comet is on its way. People are starting to think of getting back to normal. But Fran and Buzzard come to a horrible realization.

It’s another outdoor video introduction. They’re kind of fun. I might get in the habit.

In chapter thirty-one, the comet is in shock and in danger of an epidemic of suicides. They think about getting hold of Orange Comet, the only other one that might be able to evade the Visitor. In spite of the risk that the Visitor might be able to detect it, they decide to send a message to Orange. The declaration of their continued existence is well worth the danger.

Chapter thirty is short, but it’s a major turning point in the story. There’s an emergency meeting of the planning committee. It’s about the last message from the Envoy, sent out to meet the Visitor. The Visitor’s true nature is revealed. The people are left asking why.
