Stories for Men – Part One

Today’s reading is part one of Stories for Men by John Kessel, part of a collection of short stories called The Baum Plan for Financial Independence. It is about twelve minutes long. The story isn’t actually a short story. It’s more like a novella, so be prepared for many parts. We’re back on the Moon with this one. It’s the same locale as in The Juniper Tree. A boy is trying to find his way in the matriarchal society, and finding many of the same problems as are found by women and girls here and now. Recording Studio – In Action

I’m settling in to the recording studio now. Still getting used to it, but already I can see the advantages. I get to sit in comfort. I don’t need to be talking into the baffles. Everything is within easy arm’s reach. And the sound quality is just as good. I haven’t noticed any difference in the recordings yet, and that was the most important thing. I didn’t want to have a jarring change in the middle of things.

Looking forward to many happy hours in there. Thanks for joining me on this journey.
