YouTube – The Francesians

I’ve decided that I will start another series of YouTube videos. They will be introductions to the chapters of The Francesians, the last book in the Green Comet trilogy.

I’m not sure what day I will start, but it will be soon. I expect to keep the schedule of two videos per week.

The Francesians is the third and final novel in the Green Comet trilogy. When I wrote Green Comet I did not expect to go beyond that. Write a novel to see if you can do it. Show it to people. Get encouragement. Publish it with a Creative Commons license. Sit back and watch people expand on your offering and grow the Green Comet universe.

Watch nothing happen for awhile, then write your own extension and show it to people. Get encouragement and write another extension. Realize that no one wants to add to your project, so keep writing extensions until the second novel, Parasite Puppeteers, is complete.

Receive questions from people who are wondering what comes next. Decide to keep writing extensions until the third novel, The Francesians, completes a trilogy. Stop there after having promised that it will be a trilogy and will not continue to grow.

Meanwhile, between writing the books, record them to create audiobooks. Publish them with the same Creative Commons license and release them into the wild. After many years, decide that the audio would be well suited to publishing in a YouTube channel. Call it the Okanagan Reader.

Discover that you can’t stop there and write another trilogy: The Plainsrunner. Publish these under normal copyright and have them uploaded to various internet ebook vendors. Repeat with the audiobooks. Then do the same thing with another series that isn’t limited to the trilogy format, and begin an indefinite stream of Vin Stone novels, both ebooks and audiobooks. Make them available at the vendors, all at ridiculously low prices.

You can learn more on these two pages:

The free-to-download Creative Commons books.

The books under normal copyright.

So, stay tuned for more YouTube videos and while you wait, check out all these other offerings.
