This reading is chapter fifty of Parasite Puppeteers, the second book in the Green Comet trilogy. Fran warns them that the Prime might do something. The Makers ignore her warning and shoot the Balls anyway, but they suffer only minor damage. The Prime appears to be stirring to life. Buzzard and Maria are having their own adventure at the Maker world.
