Green Comet Has Moved to a New Server

It’s a relief to be on this new server. I was suffering terrible slowdowns on the old one. The public-facing part of the site (this part) was okay, but the administration part was unbearably slow. I was blaming Firefox, my web browser of choice, and trying several other ones as I looked for solutions. I noticed some minor differences, but they were small and inconsistent. So I was trying all sorts of remedies gleaned from the internet. Some of them helped a little, while others made it worse. The only thing left to try was to get my server provider to upgrade the database software on the server, as was suggested by WordPress, the software used to create this site.

They complied and moved my site to a new server with the new database software. I noticed an immediate improvement. Administration of the Green Comet website is much easier now and I don’t need to hunch over my keyboard waiting for pages to update so I can do things. Gotta love my provider: Canadian Web Hosting. They had somebody on duty to take my questions and requests, and they made the changes immediately. Restores your faith, doesn’t it?

So, as always, let me know if you see any problems caused by the changeover. I’m going to go and make myself a nice cup of coffee.
