  1. It boggles the mind. Thank you for putting in such terms that this little brain understands that she knows nothing. 🙂

  2. Sorry, I didn’t understand it at all. Would you mind rephrasing it a bit. 🙂

I have this real fear of getting lost. I remember years ago my husband went to New York City for a job interview. (thank god he didn’t take it) We did some walking/sight seeing. I was so scared we would get separated in the crowd. I didn’t once let go of his hand.

So the thought of this vast amount of space is really petrifying. I would get lost. I’m not going out there although there may be someone wanting to send me out there.

    • Okay meme. It’s big. Really big. Really, hugely, bigly big. It’s so big that the biggest bigness we can imagine wouldn’t be big enough. And when you think about it, we already are “out there.”

And I’ve just realized that big is a very strange word.

  3. A little correction for the radius of the observable universe. You forgot to factor in the expansion of space.

  4. Thank you for the correction. I was working on the naive notion of observability. It’s true that what appears to be 13.7 billion light years away is “actually” farther due to expansion in the meantime. Thanks again.
