Fair weather cumulus clouds, also known as cumulus humilis, are the puffy white clouds that most people think of first when they think of clouds. You usually see them on a nice, warm day, where they contrast prettily against the blue sky. With their low vertical development, they indicate relatively stable air and fair weather for the next few hours. However, since they are formed by rising air, they can be indicative of further vertical development impending, and possible bad weather.

About EFF

The Electronic Frontier Foundation was founded in July of 1990 in response to a basic threat to speech. TuxRadar has a good article about it.

A valuable document was stolen. The authorities wanted to find the recipients of the stolen document, so they got a blanket warrant and went fishing. The Secret Service executed a warrant against the innocent Steve Jackson Games and took all electronic equipment and copies of an upcoming game book from Steve Jackson Games’s premises. They found nothing, but held onto the material long enough to cause the company to miss its deadline, lay off half its staff and nearly go bankrupt. When their property was finally returned they found that personal information had been accessed and deleted. No charges were laid because no evidence was there to be found, but many innocent people suffered. They were punished for someone else’s crime and the people who ruined their lives were acting as if they deserved it. There seemed to be nothing they could do but accept the injustice. Working on the principle that you can never have too many options, another hypothesis for human bipedalism has entered the fray. For decades proponents of the Savanna Theory have been looking down their noses at advocates of the Aquatic Ape Theory. How will the incumbents react to the newcomer, the upstart Scrambler Man Hypothesis? Will they band together to heap scorn on it, or will the Aquatic Ape crowd be sympathetic to a plight so like their own? Continue reading
