In a previous post I talked about bad science and some of the things to watch for when trying to identify it. Now I’ve found a blog called “Compound Interest” that features a very good infographic on the subject. This one is a slight departure for the blog, which normally concentrates on talking about and explaining chemistry. For anyone who is interested in how chemistry affects ordinary life, the “Compound Interest” blog should be a preferred destination. You could spend hours exploring their many infographics. They are also available for download as high definition PDFs.

If this hasn’t piqued your interest yet, then I have the ultimate inducement: one of the infographics is about chocolate.-)

Gooseberry

In a previous post I talked about the Blender Foundation and how their animated movie, Sintel, was victimized by a false DMCA takedown. Blender has another project on the go. It will be a full length animated movie called Gooseberry. It’s in the beginning phases now, where they’re trying to raise enough funding through a cloudfunding campaign. More information, including profiles on the studios involved, is available on the Gooseberry site.

Opensource.com has an interview with the project lead, Ton Roosendaal, which is well worth the read.

There is a trailer for Gooseberry up on Youtube. Let’s hope this one isn’t taken down.-)
